I’ve been making art as far back as I can remember. I was lucky enough to have a mom who introduced me to the joys of art by signing me up for local art classes for the community as a kid. My mom has always encouraged me to stay creative and pursue art. I’m self taught apart from my high school years. I feel I’m influenced by an art teacher from high school and working artists in Portland, Oregon Don Bailey. He’s encouraged me and mentored me in art and the business end as well. I also love seeing artists in my community and Rez succeed in the art world. I’ve recently moved back to my rez to reconnect with my culture and the traditions. I love connecting with people through art and making art, it’s a camaraderie that I can’t get enough of.
